A Message from the Principals

Good Evening DYI Families,

Today was the first day working without Dr. Greeson in our school.  Her dedication to students spanned decades here in DY and over the bridge as well.  We truly appreciate that she chose to end her career in Dennis-Yarmouth.  From Wixon to DYI, she was a steady influence who held high expectations for students and staff.  She will be sorely missed!!!

Please take a moment to review our first newsletter of the month.

Sincerely,

Mr. Blake, Dr. Greeson, Mrs. Cleary, & Dr. Spano

STAR Classroom Celebrating Bat Week!

Ms. Baron’s STAR I class had a fang-tastic time celebrating Bat Week! Bat Week is an annual international celebration held during the last full week of October to recognize the important role bats play in our ecosystems and raise awareness about bat conservation. Throughout the week, students learned all about these fascinating creatures, explored the history and purpose of Bat Week, and discovered the many ways bats help our environment. We also enjoyed a variety of fun, bat-themed activities, crafts, and learning experiences. It was a week full of curiosity, creativity, and bat-tastic fun!

🎶 Chorus News & Upcoming Performances! 🎶

Our 5th Grade Chorus has been working hard and is excited to perform at our school's Veterans Day Assembly on Tuesday, November 10! Since this is also Picture Day, students do not need to wear anything specific for their performance. Families, please be sure to mark your calendars for the 5th Grade Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 15!
Our 4th Grade Chorus has also been busy rehearsing and preparing for their upcoming Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 8, alongside the Band and Orchestra! Take a peek at the photo of our talented singers hard at work. Stay tuned for more concert details!
🎻 A Special Musical Opportunity!
The Cape Symphony is offering FREE tickets to students in grades 5–12 for select performances! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience the magic of a live professional orchestra right here in our community. It could also make for a memorable holiday family outing!

Mrs. Doherty's PBIS Group

Our PBIS student leader group is sponsoring a food drive for the school and the community!  Help this great group of students spread their kindness during this giving time of year.  Canned and non-perishable goods can be brought into school and will be donated to the local food pantry.  We are also looking for gift cards and cash for some of our families in need.  Cash donations may be made via venmo @DYIMS PTO and gift cards may be brought into the office.  Kindness is something to always be proud of, no matter how small the act. We appreciate any amount.

Farewell Dr. Cheryl Greeson

💚 Wishing Dr. Greeson a Happy Retirement! 🐬
This week, we said a heartfelt farewell to our wonderful Assistant Principal, Dr. Cheryl Greeson, as she begins her well-deserved retirement!
Dr. Greeson has made a lasting impact on the Dennis-Yarmouth school community through her compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to students, staff, and families. Her kindness, leadership, and genuine care for others have touched so many lives, and her presence will truly be missed at DYI.
We are incredibly grateful for all that Dr. Greeson has done to help make our school such a special place to learn and grow. While we will certainly miss seeing her in our hallways each day, we are excited for her as she begins this next chapter filled with family, relaxation, and new adventures!

💚 Thank You, DYI Families!

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our families who took the time to attend Parent-Teacher Conferences last week! These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for families and teachers to connect, celebrate student successes, discuss progress, and work together to support continued growth and learning.
We truly value the strong partnership between home and school and appreciate your ongoing involvement in your child's education. Thank you for being an important part of our DYI Dolphin community and for helping us make this school year a successful one!

We Did It! DYI Exceeds Our Fundraising Goal!

We are thrilled to announce that Dennis-Yarmouth Intermediate School exceeded our Boosterthon fundraising goal, raising an incredible $24,616! These funds will directly benefit our students by supporting school field trips, enrichment opportunities, guest speakers, and other exciting educational experiences for all!
We are also proud to share that 42% of our students registered for this year's fundraiser! A special congratulations to our top student fundraisers, Logan Walker (Grade 5) and Gregory Buckley (Grade 4)!
We would also like to recognize Ms. Kuntzman's fourth-grade class and Ms. Micciche's fifth-grade class for leading their grade levels in the number of contacts shared to help spread the word about our fundraiser!
A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our students, families, and staff for your generosity, enthusiasm, and hard work! Your support made this fundraiser an incredible success and will help us create memorable learning experiences for our students throughout the school year.
We are so grateful for our amazing DYI community! Go Dolphins!
