A Message from the Principals

Good Evening DYI families,

Open House is an exciting night for everyone. We hope you were able to attend, meet your child’s teacher and see your child’s classroom. If you could not join us, please click the link to the Open House Presentation below. A shout out to our student ambassadors who helped you get to your child’s classroom.

This is a very brief newsletter. It just contains much of the information we shared tonight, including the presentation in the auditorium. While you were asked to remember many things tonight, we definitely want you to mark your calendars for Thursday, September 25. We have our first ever Family Fun event where families will get a chance to meet the other families from your child’s classroom. When students come to our new school, families often do not know each other unless they are from the same school. This is our chance to change that feeling.

Save the date for the 25th. More details to come!

Please read below so your child does not forget their jammies, you sign the student handbook and you are ready for Picture Day!

Student Handbook

Linked below is a copy of the DYI Student/Family Handbook. After you click the link, you can view the handbook in four different languages. All families are asked to sign off on the following digitally. If you need a paper copy of the handbook, please reply to this post and ask for a paper copy. After signing off digitally on the Student Handbook, we would like you to ask your student to see their agenda book. In their agenda book, on page 4, is a copy of the Dolphin Way. Please sign off and your child can bring their agenda book to the teacher.

9/11 Remembrance and Snack Drive

DYIMS will be holding a snack drive beginning on September 11th and going through the first week of October. This morning , our school community took a moment of silence for the lives tragically lost on September 11, 2001.

PJammin with Cancer

PJammin with Cancer is a fundraising and awareness program run by the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO). During a PJammin event, participants wear pajamas to school or work to show solidarity with children who are battling cancer. Students and staff can wear their Pajamas on Friday, September 19th and we are asking for donations of $1 or more! Please see the attached flyers.

Picture Day

Picture Day will be hosted by O'Connor Studios on Wednesday, October 15th and Re-takes will be Thursday, November 20th

Shout out to Yarmouth Rotary Club

The Yarmouth Rotary Club has generously donated instrument scholarship money for students. Please reach out to your child's band or orchestra teacher if you are in need of a scholarship.
